Crime Branch Indore team has caught the serial chain snatcher on the information of informer. The Crime Branch handed over this action to Tilak Nagar police station.
According to Tilak Nagar police, Hitesh Punjabi resident Kranti Kripalani Nagar was surrounded and caught. Tilak Nagar police is interrogating him. During preliminary interrogation, accused Hitesh Punjabi confessed to two incidents of chain snatching. He told the police that he had a lot of debt, so he started chain snatching to earn quick money. He told that on October 5, in Tilak Nagar police station area at night, he targeted two women who were roaming outside their house, snatched the gold chain from their neck and ran away on his motorcycle.
The bike along with 1 gold chain and 2 gold ingots weighing approximately 23 grams have been seized from the possession of the accused. The accused was also arrested by the Crime Branch in 2017 in which 17 gold chains were recovered from the accused Hitesh.
